To use the Non-Destructive Bevel, simply select at an object and press the Create button.
You can then modify your original object and do any kind of operation you’d like such as booleans, every modifications you make will be propagated automatically on the beveled object.
When you are done modeling, you can use the Bake button to apply the bevel definitely on your object.
The bevel is always applied on every hard edges of your objects so make sure to always manage your soft/hard edges meticulously if you want to have the best result possible.
It is better to keep your objects separated and apply a bevel on each one of them then combining all of them together.
Keep in mind that the bevel operation requires expansive computation, so it is recommended to use the Non-Destructive Bevel on light objects only and to limit the number of segments of the bevel to one or two.
You can use the Reconnect function if you want to transfer an attached Non-Destructive Bevel from one object to another.
If an object you are working on ever get disconnected from the Non-Destructive Bevel, you can select the object and use the Reconnect function, the object will get connected to an unattached Non-Destructive Bevel if found.
Select an object with a Non-Destructive Bevel and one without.
Run the Reconnect function.
The Non-Destructive Bevel will be unattached from the prior object and attached on the other one.
You can use the Bake function to apply the bevel on your object(s) definitely.
If you have the Normal Toolkit installed, you also have the choice to convert as a Smart Bevel. The bevel faces will be added automatically to the Normal Toolkit Selection Set.
Select an object with a Non-Destructive Bevel.
Run the Bake Selected function.
The Non-Destructive Bevel will be applied to your object and the bevelPreview object will be deleted.
If you wish to bake the beveled object to a new object instead of replacing the source object, you can enable the Keep Original parameter from the tool Window or from the Bake Options Window in the GENtools Menu.
You can use the Edit Bevel button to select the polyBevel node(s) attached to your current objects and show the In-View Editor so you can modify the Non-Destructive Bevel settings as desired.
